Who is the American online high school for?
For students who want to earn an American High School Diploma and study in the American system from Poland or anywhere in the world.
Students can also join in the later years of secondary school. Grades from the current school are analysed and transferred, so completed material does not need to be repeated.
At least B1 English is recommended. Students whose English grade is below 4 on a Polish report, or below B at an English-language school, start with a 3-month ESL preparation course; the other courses unlock once it is completed.
How learning works
Learning is asynchronous, in modules on the platform, with no compulsory live group lessons and no in-person exams.
Start at any time
Each school year lasts 10 months from account activation. It can be extended by 2 months or finished early.
Platform available 24/7
Videos, assignments, quizzes, module tests and projects. A computer and a stable internet connection are enough.
U.S. teachers
Flexible online consultations, email or chat whenever a student needs help.
Honors and Advanced Placement
The programme can be extended with Honors and AP courses, valued by universities.
Reports for parents
Monthly progress reports and access to the platform.
Optional educational mentor
A paid additional service: study planning, motivation and university choices.
About mentoring
Who runs the programme, and how to check
The programme combines a U.S. curriculum provider with support from the JDJ team in Poland. Here is who is responsible for what.
JDJ International Open Schools
A brand of JDJ Bachalski Limited (United Kingdom, company number 02973841): admissions, coordination, student services and optional mentoring.
American High School
The U.S. provider of the curriculum and teachers, which issues the American High School Diploma. The provider is accredited by Cognia.
American High School website(opens in a new tab)Cognia
An organisation that accredits schools. You can check a specific school's accreditation in the institution search on Cognia's website.
What Cognia accreditation is(opens in a new tab)
Accreditation applies to the school and does not mean every university will automatically accept the diploma. Each university decides on admission. A school's entry in the NCES (National Center for Education Statistics) register is a statistical listing, not accreditation.
